As a male dominated Club, Brunswick City Soccer Club would like to support the initiatives of White Ribbon, Australia’s campaign to stop violence against women. One of our own Brunswick City Families has recently been touched by a domestic violence death, and there's no doubt that others have also been affected by family violence.
White Ribbon is an organisation that works to prevent male violence against women. It is a male-led campaign that believes that most men are good and that good men abhor such violence. White Ribbon also believes in the capacity of the individual to change and to encourage change in others. Through primary prevention initiatives and an annual campaign, White Ribbon seeks to change the attitudes and behaviours that lead to and perpetuate violence against women.
There are many ways we can all make a difference. These include being part of a campaign at work, buy a white ribbon on 25 November, swear that we will stop men's violence, or become an ambassador and support other men to be peaceful.
