Seniors Football - Round 1 2018

The 2018 NPL2 season began with a large crowd and warm conditions on Saturday afternoon, at home versus Sunshine George Cross. After a long preseason Brunswick City were primed for a strong start to the season.

However, Sunshine opened in the 9' with a chip over the keeper. Brunswick City equalised short after with a simple finish after some great build up with new striker Yakub Mlcak in the 11'.

The Georgies then had a player sent off, and Brunswick City began to ascend their man advantage, scoring a second goal through Portillo in the 41'.

Second half was a battle with the 10 man Sunshine team being able to lift and fight against the 11 men of Brunswick, and they were able to equalise in the 65'.

Brunswick tried to find a winner in the last 10 minutes, however were unlucky on this day. Game ending 2-2.

Next match versus Melbourne Victory Youth on Sunday 25th February at Epping Stadium (Harvest Home Rd, Epping) at 3:00pm.
